Terms of Service

Who can use the Service

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher). You’re responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure; don’t share your credentials, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• break the law, or infringe anyone’s rights;
• harass, threaten, defame, or abuse others, or post unlawful, hateful, or sexually exploitative content;
• upload malware, attempt to breach or overload the Service, probe its security, or access data that isn’t yours;
• scrape, resell, or automate abuse of the Service (including the AI features) beyond the access we provide;
• misuse the AI assistant to generate prohibited content or to evade usage limits.

In short: don’t be a jerk, and don’t put us or other users at risk.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you’ve violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we stop offering the Service. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Some records may be retained after termination as described in our Privacy Policy.

Your content

You keep ownership of the trips, notes, and other content you create. You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — including sending the relevant parts to our AI provider when you use the AI features, and sharing content with collaborators you invite. You’re responsible for the content you add and for having the right to add it.

Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (for example AI, payments, email, and hosting providers). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers’ terms. We’re not responsible for third-party services we don’t control.

No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maister, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or US $50. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

Changes

We may update the Service and these Terms over time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, give notice in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in New York will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that isn’t resolved informally, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
